Invite your team

You invite people with a link. Each link carries a role: whoever opens it and signs in enters the workspace with that role. Owners and admins can invite.

  1. In the sidebar, open Members and click Invite.
  2. In Invite to the workspace, each role has its own row: Admin, Member and Viewer. Click Create link in the row of the role you want to give.
  3. Copy the link and send it any way you like.

The person opens the link, logs in or signs up, and clicks Enter the workspace.

A few things to know:

  • There is one live link per role, and it doesn’t expire. Anyone who has it can use it.
  • A link never makes anyone an owner. Only an owner can make someone an owner, on the Members page.
  • Someone who is already in the workspace keeps their role when they open a link. A link only lets people in; it never changes a role.

If a link reached the wrong people, click Revoke next to it. Those who haven’t entered through it yet won’t get in. People already inside are not affected. You can then create a new link for the same role.

In short: a member edits maps alongside you, a viewer can only look, and an admin also manages people and keys.

An agent key works with the rights of the person who created it. If that person becomes a viewer, the key can only read; when they get edit rights back, the same key writes again.

For a client who only needs to follow progress, you may not need a role at all: a read-only link shows one map without an account.

On the Members page, open the menu in the person’s row and choose the new role, for example Make Admin, or Remove from workspace.

  • Owners are changed and removed only by owners. An admin manages admins, members and viewers.
  • The only owner can’t be removed or demoted.
  • Anyone can leave a workspace with Leave workspace, except its only owner.

A removed person loses access to every project in the workspace, and their agent keys for it stop working. They can come back only through a new invite link.
