# Share a read-only link

A public link shows one map to anyone who has it, without an account and without signing in. Use it for a client or anyone who wants to see what is being built and how far along it is. People with the link can't change anything. To give someone a seat in the workspace instead, see [Invite your team](/docs/invite-team/).

## Create the link

1. Open the map and click the **Share** icon in the toolbar above it.
2. In **Share map**, click **Create link**.
3. Click **Copy** and send the link any way you like.

A map has one live link at a time. Opening **Share map** again shows the same link, so you can copy it later. Owners, admins and members can create and revoke links; viewers don't see the button.

## What the guest sees

The page opens with a **View only** badge next to the map title. The guest sees the map the way your team set it up:

- every view tab, with its saved filters, columns, rows and fields, except the ones described below;
- steps and chapters, stories with their numbers, descriptions, stages, priorities and personas;
- acceptance criteria with their check marks;
- releases with their dates and goals, and the backlog, collapsed at first;
- the agent's estimate and actual time, in minutes only.

The guest can switch tabs, filter, change what **Display** shows and open any story to read it. Nobody else sees these changes, and a reload brings back the views as your team saved them. The page refreshes on its own every few seconds, so the guest sees progress without reloading.

## What the link doesn't show

Some things stay inside the workspace:

- **Who works on what.** The assignee of a story doesn't go out with the link, not even the fact that someone is assigned. Tabs with an assignee filter, or with board columns or rows by assignee, are left out, and the guest can't filter by assignee.
- **Who changed the card last.** The last change line stays inside the workspace.
- **The details of the agent's estimate.** The guest sees the planned minutes with their range and the minutes the agent actually worked. Complexity, clarity, what is missing, the model name, the number of passes and the calendar time stay inside.
- **Empty chapters and the Statistics page.**

## Turn the link off

Open **Share map** and click **Revoke link**, then confirm. Everyone who has the link loses access at once: a page that is already open switches to "This link is no longer active" within a few seconds. You can create a new link afterwards; it gets a new address, and the old one stays dead.
